End of May Washout

One daughter's birthday and the other one breaking her arm mean that bugger all got done for the last week.

Target for next month is Britanans plus some of the models from the Relics Indiegogo pre-order.

P.S.  Get your Relics orders in before midnight tonight to get an army for £35 (or less if you go for one of the other factions, Vaettir are only £20!)

Redrew the Sol concept

I'm happier with this one. ;-)

Then I did a Ranger and a Hunting Dog.

Distracted again...

Spent painting time creating quick reference cards for Relics, but the end result was worth the effort.
Just ran two starter games in an hour and half at the school club and the quick reference cards both sped the game up no end and made it easier to explain.
My plans for this evening have been canceled so I might get some painting time back, though I've got to get my models ready for WFB on Thursday and I've not opened the box since the ' tip it up, rattle, crunch episode' on it's last outing.

Edit: No I didn't.  Had to do some repairs instead. :-(

Concept art for relics...

Completely unofficial and definitely just fanfic, but here's my take on the Sol species of the Vaettir race.

Beware Lupine Bacteria on the rise!

For a couple of nights each month, the bacteria in your house gets stronger, faster and more aggressive.
Protect yourselves!

Tenuous promise keeping

I know I promised no more posts without pics, but I just wanted to mention a change in my painting technique. (Oh, shock-horror! Rich has changed something again...)

Anyway, I've spent the weekend practising with a wet palette and I really like the results.

Firstly, the paint stays wet. Obvious really, but it was great being able to mix a colour and be able to take breaks without fear of it drying out, it even lasted over night!

Secondly, you can stretch out the paint to get the consistency you need just by dragging it along the paper, I can't begin to extol how useful this is.

Well, the next challenge it the hardest,  the Britanan are animated rag-dolls in Napoleonic era British uniform. Lots of blending, highlighting and picking out stitching...

Obligatory promise keeping pic:
I got this from The Range for £2.49 along with a new 0000 brush, best £5 I've spent in a while.

Bugger it, let's throw in another one...

Presenting for your approval, the Orcnar:

Not much has changed...

according to these pics, but I've just spent another three hours highlighting the lightning patterns on these buggers and applying lightning to the blades (except the big Vstonin).  Oh well, at least they're on a nice backdrop.
