Well I messed that up...

Apparently my grasp of the 40k Flyer rules was less firm than I thought, basically I had my arse handed to me by Lee as I realised I could do naff all against his Stormraven and had to improvise.

Apparently Flyers cannot be hit by template or blast weapons whilst they are zooming and vector strike only hits at basic strength so against armour 12 my Daemon Prince couldn't do anything, so I'm reluctantly going to have to make some changes and add in some Bolts of Tzeentch:

On a lighter note the game had some lovely moments but most were contained in turns 2 and 3. The Herald took a shed-load of hits from the Stormraven and looked like dying on Lee's turn 2 but managed to save his last wound.  My turn 2 he jumped up onto the battlements and hit the Vindicare Assassin with Daemonic Gaze and Breath of Chaos managing 2 wounds that Lee promptly invulnerable saves.  Grr.  The Soul Grinder did better by hitting Corteaz with a direct hit with Phlegm at strength 8 AP3, Lee decided to take both hits on Corteaz with his 2+ Armour Save passing one then failing the second.  Instant death and 2 VP to me!  The Herald then charged the Vindicare and died.  Both Warlords dead in the same turn is pretty good going.

At the beginning of turn 3 Lee ambled the Vindicare over to the other side of the battlements and popped a Turbo penetrator shot off at the Soul Grinder rolling 6, 6, 5, 4 and following it with a 6 for the Penetrating hit.    After that it got pretty stale, nothing amazing happened as the Daemon Prince failed in his reallocated role, the death cult assassins predictably cut the horrors up and the Stormraven blew apart the other unit with impunity.

Next time Ashford, next time...  duh-de-duh-de-duh it's Mr Ashford, duh-de-duh-de-duh do do...

  1. Ooh i'm scared :p

I thought after you did exactly what Jimbo does with his Daemons and let me kill you piecemeal. If you came all at once i'd have been stuffed and probably wiped out
Well except for the Stormraven ;)
